About Course
This course provides a broad introduction to business in Canada and the economic and environmental forces influencing the nature of organizations. It provides a background to the development of business activity and identifies trends in Canada and globally.
Students will examine the social, economic, technological and political/legal elements of the environment. They will also examine the purposes and activities of organizations of various types, sizes and structures.
Emphasis will be on identifying the internal functions of business and the themes of technology, information, e-business and globalization. Students will apply these theories and concepts to analyze trends in Canadian business and to assess future career opportunities.
