About Course

This course meets the training requirement under Part 6 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations for any person who handles, offers for transport, or transports dangerous goods in Canada.

Candidates learn to classify dangerous goods into the 9 TDG hazard classes, complete compliant shipping documents, apply safety marks and placards, and respond appropriately to a transportation incident. 

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this course, candidates will be able to (identical outcomes across all delivery modes):
  • Explain the purpose and structure of the TDG Regulations and the Part 6 training requirement.
  • Identify the 9 TDG hazard classes and their associated placards, labels, and UN numbers.
  • Correctly classify a shipment and determine its packing group.
  • Complete a compliant shipping document/bill of lading for dangerous goods.
  • Apply safety marks and placarding requirements to a shipment.
  • Describe employer, consignor, and carrier responsibilities under the Regulations.
  • Apply correct emergency response and incident-reporting procedures for a TDG incident
