About Course

  • This course presents a systematic approach to human resource management.
  • Students will examine recruitment, compensation, cultural and safety concerns and be presented with performance, quality, compliance, and ethical challenges to consider in the context of business policies and procedures and employment law.

What Will You Learn?

  • Describe the changing demographic characteristics of the Canadian workforce and how it is expected to influence hiring practices.
  • Describe managers' challenges and opportunities when applying organizational behavior concepts in their workplaces.
  • Describe the importance of the selection process and identify the selection errors and biases managers must address when screening applicants.
  • Explain how managers use sourcing applications and pretesting as selection tools.
  • Identify and explain the orientation and training cycle stages and describe various training methods.
